Connecting your WordPress site
How to give RealQube an application password so we can publish your articles and make SEO edits on your own WordPress site.
Updated October 13, 2026
RealQube does not build you a new website. You keep the WordPress site you already own, and we do the work inside it: your weekly article is published to your blog, and SEO edits are made for you. To do that we need an application password, a feature built into WordPress since version 5.6.
Create the application password
- Log in to your WordPress admin at yoursite.com/wp-admin with an Administrator or Editor account.
- In the left menu, click Users, then Profile.
- Scroll down to Application Passwords. Type RealQube as the name and click Add New Application Password.
- WordPress shows the password once, as six groups of four letters and numbers. Copy all of it. The spaces are fine.
- In your RealQube dashboard, open Your WordPress, enter your website address, your WordPress username, and the password, then click Connect WordPress.
We check the connection before saving anything. If it works you will see Connected, the name of the WordPress user we signed in as, and what that user is allowed to do.
Why an application password and not your login
- It is not your real password. Your login stays private to you.
- It only works for RealQube. It cannot be used to log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- We store it encrypted and never show it again, to you or to anyone on our team.
- You can cut our access instantly: in WordPress, go to Users, then Profile, and delete the RealQube application password.
If you do not see Application Passwords
Your WordPress may be older than 5.6, your site may not be on https, or a security plugin such as Wordfence may have turned application passwords off. Hosts that block the WordPress REST API cause the same problem. Email realqubeseo@gmail.com and we will sort it out with you.
Not on WordPress
If your site runs on Squarespace, Wix, Webflow or something else, add the RealQube snippet from Snippet for your own site for lead capture and SEO fixes, and copy approved articles over by hand. Or email us and we will help.
